2/7/2024 0 Comments Splish plash long islandLadies and gentlemen I assure you the staff here is poorly trained and this place is dangerous. I also would like to add since I work in this industry I will find out who certifies your life guards and you will be audited randomly for your inability to perform the proper safety procedures. I paid a lot of money to vist there.I purchased the premuim passes to skip lines and this the service one receives? Splish splash I hope you read this because I have now contacted your corporate office directly to file a complaint against your facility. I am very angry that people at splish splash do not know how to perform their job correctly. I called them back a dozen times over the last few days and a girl named Rita told me.all the managers are busy, can I take a message? Hell no you can't. Not one person has yet to call and follow up. She explained to me that they take these incidents very serious and that someone would be following up with me. I demanded to speak to a manger on duty.we were told we needed to meet her at guest services office (normal managers meet the guest at the location of the incident) & she made us fill out a regular incident report & played the incident off like it was nothing. As for the life guard, the rotation had changed and he no longer was at that stand. I work in this industry, so I used my training to calm her down and to get her back to normal. Fortunately enough, I was still in the pool, I ran up to her and got her safety while the brain dead life guard stood there watching as if he was sleeping with his sun glasses on. At that moment she was in a panic and proceeded to put her hands in the air while she struggled to breath and stay a float. ![]() As she flew out of the slide she hit the water and swallowed a bunch of water and could not breath. If I had gotten out of the water at the bottom, she would be dead at this moment. My fiance and I went down the shark ride that's a body slide ride & she almost lost her life. I was very excited to be back but unfortunately i will never vist splish splash again. I use to go there very often over the years. On July 1st, 2014 i had visited this place for the first time in a long while.

2/7/2024 0 Comments 12 minutes game ending![]() Association adopted the touch down in 1866, but it was abolished within the year. Prior to 1863 some Associations used the 'rouge' to settle a game, which was similar to a try in rugby. What we do know is that football was crying out for a tie-breaker to decide the result of drawn matches for years before extra-time was settled upon. We know, then, that not all countries or even competitions used the extra-time laws as laid out by the Football Association in 1897, but where did the very idea of an additional 30 minutes come from? Why 30 minutes rather than, say, play another 45? The answer isn't an easy one to discover, with the game's law-makers rarely feeling the need to explain themselves. When the two sides met for a replay seven weeks later they did include extra-time, but the match still couldn't be finished because of the number of injuries and sendings off. Even then it wasn't a goal that ended the contest so much as it was the encroachment of night. They decided to keep playing until a team scored, resulting in another 99 minutes of football. It wasn't the case everywhere, though, which is demonstrated neatly by the German Championship final of 1922 when Hamburg and Nuremburg were drawing 2-2 after 90 minutes but wanted to find a winner. The idea of extra-time in football was also added to the rules with those 1897 amendments, at least for British clubs and competitions. That's not to say that these FA rules were accepted globally, however, and it took some time before the exact timings of football as well know and understand them today were put in place everywhere. The new law stated that football matches would last for 90 minutes unless it had otherwise been agreed by both teams prior to the game getting underway. Remarkably, it took another 20 years for rules to be put in place regarding both how long football matches lasted for as well as how many people were able to play on each of the participating teams. ![]() The compromise was set at 45 minutes per half for a total of 90 minutes, though even this wasn't made official until 1897.ġ877 was the year that the Sheffield Football Association and the FA decided to join forces, creating an amalgamated set of rules that would be used for all of football. The likelihood is that London clubs tended to play the Football Association's rules, which set the time of a match at a shorter duration to the 2 hours that the Sheffield Association thought play should take place for. It is believed that the two teams agreed on a match of 90 minutes, with people feeling that that length was suitable as the players would be tired by the end of it. Indeed, even the concept of changing end at half-time had only been introduced to the Sheffield Rules in 1862, but even that was depending on there having been no goals scored in the first period of play. In 1866 London and Sheffield went up against each other in a match and had to decide how long it should last for, with both associations having matches of different lengths at that point. The Sheffield Rules were one of the chief ones that were used, soon spreading out of Yorkshire and to the north of England and the Midlands. In the various parts of the country the different football associations were responsible for creating their own rules, with no standardised set of rules having yet been formed. In order to know where the length of a football match came from, we have to travel back to the north of England when the game was just beginning. After all, figuring out where 90 minutes came from in terms of how long a match should be overall will make it easier to then work out why 45 minutes was decided upon as the halfway point. In order to understand the general manner in which timings in football work, the first place to start is with the very length of the match. Why the year 2015? According to Georgetown University disinformation expert Molly McKew, who’s interviewed in “After Truth,” the summer of 2015 was the start of this current “fake news” era. “After Truth” takes an even narrower scope of this new type of fake news, by zooming in on politically motivated “fake news” stories (instead of tabloid staples such as celebrity gossip) that have occurred in the U.S. Tabloids have been publishing fake news for decades, but a more recent type of fake news has arisen through people in the general public using social media to spread their messages. ![]() ![]() Meanwhile, the conspiracy theorists firmly believe that mainstream media outlets are the enemies and the real spreaders of fake news. The documentary takes the position that mainstream media outlets, although flawed, are the still the best ways to combat fake news since they have the resources to fact-check stories. The movie, directed by Andrew Rossi, takes particular aim at right-wing conspiracy theorists as the purveyors of fake news that do the most damage. In the documentary “After Truth: Disinformation and the Cost of Fake News,” what’s defined as “fake news” are false reports and lies that go viral and reach the mainstream. What is “fake news”? It’s more ghost train than flight simulator. To be honest, rather than putting me “in the movie”, 4DX often threw me out of it. At my screening, it’s Rampage, in which Dwayne Johnson and a giant white gorilla save humanity from skyscraper-toppling mutant monsters. ![]() Future 4DX releases include Avengers: Infinity War, Solo and Jurassic World. Needless to say, the treatment favours a certain type of movie. Now the Cineworld chain has opened a 136-seat 4DX auditorium in Leicester Square, central London. Developed in South Korea, 4DX has been gradually rolling out around the world: first in Asia and central and south America, reaching the US in 2014, and the UK (in Milton Keynes) in 2015. What that means in practice is a more rollercoaster type of cinema experience: the seats move in all directions, fans blow wind through the auditorium, there are water sprays, scented air, smoke, strobes, snow effects and more. If Imax and 3D were the beginning of a new multiplex arms race, 4DX is the nuclear option, supposedly “a revolutionary cinematic experience which stimulates all five senses”. ![]() That’s what maker of new cinema technology 4DX claims happened, at least. If you see the film in 3D, make sure you stick around for the credits for some clever animation.I didn’t just go to a movie the other night, I was “in the movie”. But "The Jungle Book" used CGI masterfully, and made the added depth worth it. I don't typically pay extra to see movies in 3D, let alone 4D, because the visuals often aren't worth the added cost. This is likely because it reminded me of being on a theme park ride, and the 105-minute runtime was just short enough that I wasn't tired of feeling bumped around or damp and chilly. The film itself, "The Jungle Book," was largely responsible for my overall enjoyment of 4DX. Either the film didn't call for it, or the effect was nullified by the popcorn and hot dog my seat neighbor was enjoying (with some difficulty, as noted above). The puffs of smoke evaporated pretty quickly, leaving no lasting effect for the rest of the scene.Īt no point during "The Jungle Book" did I notice scents coming from the seats. The fog was a little less successful, with a few spurts visible at the front of the theater during a spooky swamp scene. Thankfully, we had opted out of movie snacks that day. This was likely one of those "intense scenes" the warning sign was referring to. The kids in the theater were particularly delighted, and my fiancé was excited right along with them, saying "This is awesome!" over and over.Ī couple next to us, who settled into their seats late with huge sodas, popcorn, and hot dogs, were merely concerned about how they were supposed to eat food in their jostling seats. ![]() Nearly everyone in the theater either yelped or laughed, looking around at each other with a "Whaaaaaat?!" expression. A crazy car chase was happening on screen, and our seat began jumping and vibrating aggressively. The first thing I noticed was a button for "Water On" or "Water Off." Feeling committed to this experience, I decided in advance that I would leave it on, no matter the cost.Īlmost as soon as the theater lights went down, a loud commercial for 4DX began. The seats are clustered in sets of four, each with their own "water off" button. ![]() You still have to make your way down rows to get to the seats in the center. The seats are connected to each other in groups of four, but upon first look the theater layout looks totally normal. After the lights were turned down, we spotted several confused moviegoers wandering around in the dark, disrupting those nearby as they tried to figure out where to go. There is assigned seating, which means fellow patrons might be the ones kicking out seat thieves, but if a movie isn't sold out the would-be vagrants would merely have to wait until the movie started to find open spots.Īssigned seating means arriving early and locating your seat is essential. The need for 3D glasses might hinder some movie-hoppers, but people may have theoretically held onto theirs from past movies. Theater-hopping is a popular form a movie theft, and there were no extra employee standing outside to make sure only those with the $28 ticket came inside. It often indicates a user profile.Ī glaring hole in Regal's plan for the 4DX theater was the lack of additional security at the entrance.
